Provitaz Supports GIZ’s Water Conservation Project Near the Aral Sea
As part of GIZ’s initiative to promote water conservation and sustainable agriculture in the Aral Sea region, Provitaz conducted a detailed feasibility study for implementing solar-powered drip irrigation systems in Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan. This region faces significant challenges due to water scarcity and the environmental degradation caused by the shrinking of the Aral Sea.
The project, driven by GIZ’s commitment to sustainable development, explores innovative solutions to improve water management and agricultural practices. By integrating solar energy with drip irrigation, the initiative aims to reduce water wastage, lower energy costs, and enhance crop yields, contributing to the restoration of the region’s fragile ecosystem.
